Hi folks!

Just got into BC and have been enjoying the UX. I'm ready for something more tactile and want to make a controller with a proper helm and throttles.

I purchased a TCA Quadrant - Airbus Edition (https://www.thrustmaster.com/en-ca/products/tca-quadrant-airbus-edition/) since that seemed great for throttles. It works but in the reverse direction than intended (which I've read on prior posts is a simple matter of switching the signs on the joystick mapping) but strangely enough while I push the throttle, in addition to engine output, the view changes so that I am looking in the direction of one of my bridge wings. My buddy mentioned that it might be because there isn't a helm connected so that if we connect one, that may solve the problem.

On that note I want to connect a rotary encoder to act as the helm as well, any advice on how to do this easily since I am a non-technical user? Eager to learn!  ;D

Hi, I'm not familiar with that joystick specifically, but I wonder if moving the throttles is also triggering a 'button' press which is controlling the view.

It looks like thrustmaster have a program to change the joystick mappings, or you could try testing with something like https://greggman.github.io/html5-gamepad-test/ to see what is shown when you move the throttles.

In Bridge Command's settings, you can set the button mapping to 0 for all the joystick_button... settings, which will disable them (if this is the problem).
