Feature requests & suggestions / OpenCPN plugin for Bridge Command use
« on: August 31, 2016, 05:20:35 AM »
I'm thinking that a OpenCPN plug-in to show data from Bridge Command sessions is a grate idea!
- Radar overlay
- ohter navigatinal information like position, depth, heading

2
I’m thinking that a small radar program that connects to Bridge command is a grate ide. Like the radar mode in Bridcommand 4 but as it own program.
For exempel such small program run on a computor that runs FreeDos is a grete idea. Plese let me explain why:
Like emmbeded system
mouse or even better trackball for good user interface
contoll via keyboard
Use computors that are to old to upgrade.
Fullscreen radar simulation whit out need for expenciv eqipmnet
Bild your own radar simulation part to a bridge command based simlator set
or just use an old computor that
If it runns in FreeDos this type of program will probly run in dosbox as well
porting esalyd done just use dosbox on a verity of ohter systems...
GNU GPL licenced of coures!
This is just a start of a presentatin of these idea!
Priortise get these idea out before good spelling.

In combination whit reverse axis options to add something. Does Bridge Command 5.0 beta 3 have reverse axis option?
Esey to set Multi joystick/controller whit reverse axis option I do want for Bridge Command. Can that be done?

4
Bridge Command 5.0 beta 3 miss multipule joystick support. Multiple joystick options in Bridge Command 4.7 is a good future.
Can multi joystick option be enable for Bridge Command 5.0 beta 4?
Best regards Johan

I think it is a good idea to encureage others to link to and re-publish source code. Linking to https://www.bridgecommand.co.uk is of course interesting in this context.
I want to upload both source code packs and installer packs to my google drive. Have just after starting writing this post made a Bridge command folder:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B29c7zVoHRoQRjcybDRqeEY2cmM&usp=sharing
Testing it by uploading to URL files for them a had to use drag and drop function in Google drive web user interface. Less hassle with other files it seems.
I can provide extra download location for Bridge Command.
Just want to ask before I proceed whit this. May I  re-publish Bridge Command source code and installer packs?

Have a link to https://github.com/bridgecommand/bc is great but also link to:
https://github.com/bridgecommand/bc/releases
I think is a good idea because its make it easier to find source code that for specific release.
That will be good for computer program that uses GNU GPL.

OpenGL problem on laptops whit Windows 7 and ATI Mobility Radeon. I have graphical problem exterior outside ship is White in simulation all white and radar white whit on or tow lines. I have sent feedback on whit form on:
https://bridgecommand.co.uk/Download#dev
I have a
ATI Mobility Radeon X1350
Code Name   RV515
Video Processor   ATI Radeon Graphics Processor (0x7196)
Technology   90 nm
Adapter DAC Type   Internal DAC(400MHz)
Graphics unit in my laptop whit windows 7.

Development / Re: New radar and ballast operation interface

Great! I want to use that variation of Bridge Command when its ready! Whit trackball this radar interface can be realistic, a computor mouse works as well.

NMEA 0183 is good to use for simulation. Exampels are sail simulator 5 and FlightGear. I use programs like OpenCPN and SeaClear for plotter and navigation. Whit more baud rate options for Bridge command can make it possible to have extra navigational data for own ship and as well AIS on-line for other ships and controlled ships. I have succeeded whit using 115200 baud rate for simulation programs mention above. Hows TCP/IP NMEA interface going? UDP for NMEA 0183 is a good idea according to me works in flightgear and OpenCPN.

Environment models / Re: Create New Worlds II

Argentine cost good idea! For Argentine waters their are sea charts available in BSB format! I think to focus on parts of the world and areas where their is sea charts available on-line that works whit OpenCPN! For more info on that issue http://opencpn.org/ocpn/chart_sources and http://opencpn.org/ocpn/chart_formats
I'm interested in areas like pacific ocean that US NOAA and Land Information New Zealand has good available coverage for.
Brazilian and Argentine areas. Inland-water ways in Germany. The vector charts for Netherlands is interesting.
Can flightgear world scenery be a good inspiration? Bridge command need more detailed water depth information.

Bug reports / NMEA via serial and multiscreen slow!
« on: June 08, 2014, 12:07:33 AM »
As I have mention earlier there is problem whit NMEA via serial that slow down simulation to much and in combination whit multi-screen (multi computer simulation) that gets worse. I have computers that exceeds the basic requirement to run bridge command 4.6 and do so well in standalone mode. Win7 64bit, Win 7 32bit and Win XP, OS ordered in most to least powerful computer.

I have an interesting idea! Use the same base as flightgear! or even suggest that the C++ implementation to be part of flight gear . For Flightgear have already some areas in the simulation scenarios that can be used for sea start and landing of air planes (in FG simulator to clarify) that have potons/hulls adapted for that. Basic hydrodynamic is already their (to some extent) and it has of curse aerodynamics simulation. Flight gear 3 whit some World scenery 2 uses Global water depth map
http://www.flightgear.org/info/a-preview-of-features-for-flightgear-3-0/

http://wiki.flightgear.org/Ground_Traffic_Simulation_Resources
Interesting indeed and I do think that ship simulation is closer to Flight simulation than road and track simulation even if car models al ready available for flight gear.

Feature requests & suggestions / Re: AIS input and Google Earth?
« on: April 21, 2014, 10:29:38 AM »
AIS input and output. I'm interested in output to chart-plotter. If That can be done for GPS simulation also then for AIS. OpenCPN (http://opencpn.org) has AIS NMEA sentences capability according to OpenCPN User Manual (help_en_US.html#NMEASentences). I have OpenCPN 3.2.2 on at least one of my computers.

Have NMEA baud rate of 38,400 as option would be nice. By the way the program bridge command 4.6 gos slowly when NMEA and multiscreen enabled at same time on a computer.
NMEA whit baud rate of 38,400 as option functioning at same time as multi session on main I whold like.
